Active Streets

The San Gabriel Valley's open streets series, produced by ActiveSGV since 2017 (formerly as 626 Golden Streets). The next event, Corazón-del-Valle, is on Sunday, November 2, 2025.

Active Streets: Corazón-del-Valle - Sunday, November 2, 2025!

Join us for a special day in the heart of the SGV - Sunday, November 2, 2025. Presented by Metro and hosted by the SGVCOG, this new Active Streets route will transform 5 miles of streets in the cities of El Monte and South El Monte into a vibrant community space with live music, arts activities, and more!

Active Streets ​in 6 Points

1. Active Streets is a free event! However at least a few dollars will offer you SGV treats and support local businesses along the route.

2. You get to decide where you start and finish. There is no right or wrong way to experience the event. 

3. All forms of active transportation are permitted, including walking, biking, skating, jogging, ambling, and strolling. E-assist wheelchairs, bicycles, skateboards, etc. are also permitted, however all event participants (whether on standard or e-assist devices) shall ride in a safe and courteous manner, yielding to slower moving persons.

4. Active Streets is not a race. There are no finisher medals or awards. Only miles of smiles. 

5. Share the road. Please stay right and exercise caution so everyone can have a safe, enjoyable day.

​6. Bring a reusable bottle, cup, or mug! There will be free water refill stations in each activity hub, as well as a ton of great businesses to purchase beverages from! ​

Activity Hubs

Three Activity Hubs along the event route will offer opportunities for play, discovery, and rest. Each activity hub will offer core services, including:
  • Live entertainment and performances
  • Visual arts and family-friendly games
  • Special collectibles including limited edition stickers​​
  • Local small businesses, vendors and exhibitors
  • Free water, restrooms, and hand-wash stations
  • Free basic bike repair and bike valet​
