After a one-year hiatus, we are excited to share that 626 Golden Streets is scheduled to return in 2019 with two great, multi-city, open streets events! The first event scheduled for Sunday May 19th will connect the historic San Gabriel Mission to downtown Alhambra and the historic Mission District in South Pasadena. The five mile route will pass through some of the San Gabriel Valley's most beloved commercial districts, home to a wide array of culinary offerings. Participants who go the distance will also travel pass three local parks, Garfield Park in South Pasadena, Alhambra Park in Alhambra, and Plaza Park in San Gabriel, providing welcome green space to take a break in the shade and watch participants stream by. As with the original 2017 event, 626 Golden Streets will include an activity hub in each community where participants will be able to collect a unique City sticker, fill up a water bottle, listen to live entertainment, valet park bikes/skateboards/strollers/scooters, explore small businesses, check out local community group booths, play some games, and maybe even take a selfie with #GabeTheSasquatch! Stay tuned for more details about event day activities, schedules, and ways to participate.
